Two years ago someone asked Victor Lytvinenko where he envisioned Raleigh Denim in five years. Victor said, “Well, we’d like to see our denim in Barneys.” Telling the story later, Sarah, his wife and co-founder of Raleigh Denim, said everyone looked at him like he was crazy. New Raleigh: Wake County Reconsiders, Dogs Allowed on Patios

After food safety officials in Wake County interpreted a decades-old regulation by telling restaurants they would be ordered to ban pets from outdoor seating areas, a very heated public debate quickly followed. Now Wake County attorneys have determined that the regulation currently in place does not explicitly ban pets from restaurant patios and therefore will not be enforced. Doors were locked Friday with little explanation and Saturday employees informed gym-goers that their memberships have been transferred to Lifestyle Family Fitness, a gym located several miles away on Six Forks.
